This is our major overseas tour of 2011 and will
definitely be one not to miss if you're thinking
about travelling in the new year!
Wednesday June 8 -

The tour will start with a direct flight from
Auckland to Vancouver.
3 nights will be spent in Vancouver, with 2
nights in Victoria (Vancouver Island). Our
visits here will include the Butchart Gardens
and Whale Watching along with all the expected
city tours! We then ferry to Horseshoe Bay and
continue to Whistler for 1 night.
From Whistler we travel on to Kamloops then stay
1 night at Sun Peak, 2 nights in Jasper and
enjoy a beautiful snow-coach tour on the
Columbian Ice-Fields. We'll spend 1 night in
Banff and visit Bow Falls, The Hoodoos and
gondola up Sulphur Mountain.
We then travel to and spend 1 night in Calgary,
check out the sights before flying to Seattle
(USA). We'll spend 2 nights in Seattle which
will include a visit to the Boeing Factory, and
general sight-seeing before flying to Alaska to
spend 2 nights in Fairbanks before joining the
luxurious glass-domed train the next day.
Following this we'll spend the next 2 nights in
Denali National Park. A Full day tour in the
park is included – a great day to enjoy the
Tundra Wilderness and see the wild-life. From
here we'll join the train again next morning and
travel to Anchorage, staying 1 night. The next
day we coach down to Seward (one of the most
beautiful drives as well!) and then embark upon
our cruise around lunchtime. This consiste of 7
nights visiting the likes of College Fjord,
Glacier Bay, Haines/Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan
and finishes up in Vancouver early in the
morning a week later. There are of course many
optional shore excursions whilst on the cruise
but will be detailed closer to the time. Upon
arriving back in Vancouver there will be plenty
of time to relax before transferring to the
airport to return to NZ.
We fly home on Sunday 3rd July, arriving in
Auckland on the 5th July. Crossing date lines is
a little confusing - we depart Auckland on the
8th June and arrive Vancouver on the 8th June
and we depart Vancouver on the 3rd July but
arrive home on the 5th July!
